Here we offer a selection of some of the many unique voices in modern Japan. Japan may seem like an overly complex nation, but every foreign resident has their own take on the inscrutable Japanese and their homeland. Here we introduce some of them, all long-term residents, fluent in Japanese and each with their particular expertise to share: Danny the famous otaku blogger, Clay in the countryside, working mom Anna, illustrator Martin Faynot, Emily is a young singer, and Kevin the comedian.
