Great things are happening here at jibtv! The
staff is hard at work to prepare for its presentation at the Japan Expo in
France from July 2nd to the 5th ! This is the biggest festival of
Japanese culture and entertainment in France and Europe.
This year Japan Expo blows out its 10 year birthday
candles and the event is expected to draw an even bigger crowd this year than
the year before when 134,467 people gathered to express their shared
interest in all things Japanese at the event site in Paris-Nord Villepinte.
Last year the event was rated as the
biggest event in France for the 15-25 year old age group. The
convention covers all of contemporary Japanese pop culture from J-pop
stars AKB 48 to new video games, anime, manga, Tokyo's youthful fashions and
more.
However, the event is certainly not only for the
young and goes beyond just manga and anime. What's more the all inclusive
festival is making great efforts to show there is no shame in linking all kinds
of Japanese culture together from karaoke, traditional art, manga, Japanese
cinema, J-Music, cosplay, video games, you name it. This year they have
done things even bigger and even more diverse beyond the traditional boundaries
of the old and the new, of the extraordinary and classic.
Of course, we cannot reveal everything yet, but here is
a quick preview of some new attractions at the expo: You will be able to take
baseball lessons, a very popular sport in Japan, thanks to a Batting
Center. You can discover the
latest music trends with the JE Music Box. You will also be able to vote on the
best video clips in the JE Music Contest. Eventually you will enjoy an
incredible experience through a giant photo exhibition that allows you to dive
into the Japanese countryside without leaving the festival!
Jibtv will be at
