September in Kyoto

September when Kyoto recovers its original calmness is a good season to enjoy art-object-like crafts.
Bamboo leaves shake in brisk winds, bush clovers are in bloom, and chirpings of bell crickets give us comfort. "Kyo-yuzen" cloth describes seasons by beautiful patterns, "Nishijin-ori" fabric with gold and silver threads and "hana-kanzashi" made of delicate parts with subtle skills are introduced.
